About

I’m a person who loves to hug my backpack as I journey through life experiencing weird and wonderful days. I’m originally from the UK, and have always been travelling on and off for a few years now. After tiring of the wet miserable days and downcast people, I felt that a change of scenery was in order. So I and my trusty backpacking sidekick (my husband) decided to take a chance, one that will change our lives forever. Leave the cobbled streets of London for the bustling metropolis of Cairo.

I’ve finally settled in Cairo learning the complex language of Arabic and using my camera to capture the grimy yet charming streets. I appreciate good design and love to read and explore the area for interesting signs, typography and art. Travel with me around the region as I encounter seductive lands, heavenly food and warm people.

Stay a while and get your feet sandy.

I can promise that strange and amusing encounters will happen. This is Cairo after all..
